Brief
Emergency Medical Teams are the surge capacity a country deploys when local services are overwhelmed, and this module builds the trainers who build the teams. It is a full training-of-trainers package covering EMT classification and standards, deployment and coordination, clinical and IPC standards in the field, and the facilitation skills needed to teach adults effectively. Delivered as part of the regional EMT ToT for MPA countries, the module combines self-paced online content in the learning centre with a facilitated in-person practicum and a simulation exercise. On completion, certified trainers can run national EMT courses using the same materials, so that quality is consistent across the region and does not depend on flying in external experts.
EMT standards
The module teaches the WHO EMT classification and the minimum clinical, logistics and IPC standards a team must meet before deployment.
Facilitation skills
Trainers are equipped with adult-learning and simulation-facilitation techniques so that cascade training preserves quality.
Blended delivery
Self-paced online content is combined with an in-person practicum and a simulation exercise, ending in trainer certification.
